Belly and Blood Sugar Balancing Blast

Start your morning with a tasty healthy smoothie. The probiotics from the yogurt will help balance your gut microbes and the almonds and blueberries help to stabilize blood sugar. Keeping your blood sugar stable and keeping your gut flora happy with good bacteria are two keys to improve and prevent many physical and mental health problems.

Yogurt: High in probiotics (help maintain healthy bacteria in gut), calcium, magnesium, potassium, b vitamins

Almonds: Superfood. Protein, monounsaturated(healthy) fats, vitamin E , helps stabilize blood sugar, helps reduce risk heart disease, diabetes, cancer.

*1/4 cup of almonds provides over 7 grams of protein, more than 1 egg.

Blueberries: Superfood. High in phytonutrients, antioxidants, help to stabilize blood sugar levels.

Ingredients:

3/4 cup unsweetened plant based milk

1/2 cup unsweetened coconut yogurt (if not dairy sensitive use greek yogurt )

1/4 cup raw almonds

1/3 cup berries

1-2 ice cubes

Blend all ingredients until smooth

* To really blend the ingredients well I recommend a blender such as the Nutribullet or Vitamix
